Our newest 24 room motor lodge, pool, lifestyle gift shop and restaurant is finally opening for it's first full season in Sauble Beach! Luckily, we’ve been here for a while and have done all the research to help you plan the ultimate Sauble escape. Whether you’re looking for a laidback and local staycation or an outdoor adventure along the Bruce Peninsula, here's our list of must-dos.
Motelier tip: It all starts with a chilled can of wine. Enjoy yours poolside or on your private balcony.
#1 HAVE A BEACH NIGHT
The best thing about owning this motel in Sauble Beach? Living above our restaurant, Heydays! We dine in and take out all too often — can you blame us?! Make your beach picnic a casual one with our classic smash burger, charred broccoli caesar and crispy fries, and maybe bring a traveler bevvie for the road.
Motelier tip: time your beach night around magic hour. The sunset is a must.
#2 HIKE UP TO LION'S HEAD LOOKOUT
The views along The Bruce Peninsula stole our hearts from the beginning. Nothing compares to the clear turquoise waters and lush hiking trails — sometimes it’s hard to believe we’re still in Ontario. For more insider information check out our Bruce Peninsula specific blog here.

#3 DO A DAY TRIP TO TOBERMORY & FLOWERPOT ISLAND
A trip to Sauble Beach just isn’t complete without exploring the heart of the Peninsula: Tobermory. This quaint harbour town segways into adventure — think shipwreck boat tours, visiting Flowerpot Island and kayaking — but also makes for a relaxing afternoon walk and a fresh fish and chips lunch.

#4 EAT HEALTHY AT THE WELLNESS REFINERY
We’re suckers for colourful smoothie bowls, house nut milk lattes and nutritious but decadent treats. Luckily, we’ve got a friend in Sauble Beach that owns the most dreamy wellness café and lifestyle boutique just up the road. A Motelier favourite? The iced goddess latte (it’s pink!) and the classic avocado toast.
Wellness Refinery is our favourite place to start the day
#5 GET AFFOGATOS AT THE BEACH HOUSE
This is one of our favourite, lesser known Sauble Beach spots. At the end of the beach strip, there’s a little white cottage that sells rich Italian coffee and the creamiest soft serve there is. Sit back on the porch and watch the sky change colours or bring it to the beach for a sunset walk. Nothing says magic like sunset and ice cream, right?

#6 DO BEACH YOGA
At The June, we’re all about balance. We love to indulge in a great bottle of wine with our girlfriends, but we also love to energize our bodies with daily movement. Join us for beach yoga every Saturday morning at 8:30am for a detox, then retox with us — yes, bubbly will be waiting for you in The Shop!
Morning yoga on the beach, every Saturday from May to September
#7 WALK THE BEACH IN THE MORNING
Our favourties times of the day to hit the beach are first thing in the morning, or at golden hour in the evening. Sauble is known to attract a crowd because of it’s soft sand, clear water and long stretch of beach, but if you time it just right you can take advantage of a chill beach to start your day. We're 5 minutes to the beach and on your way you can stop in at Amicis for the perfect oat milk latte and Luscious Bakery for a buttery croissant, or grab a complimentary coffee from The Shop before you head out.
On your way back to The June, browse some of our favourite stores on main street like Grit & Grace and Garage and The Patch.

#8 EXPLORE SAUBLE RIVER BY KAYAK OR PEDAL BOAT, OR RENT A PADDLE BOARD
Although most people know this area for the beach, Sauble River is a beautiful spot for kayaking, pedal boating, swimming and hiking. In the summer months you can swim at Sauble Falls and towards the autumn months, you can watch the salmon run through the crashing falls. You can rent your equipment at Sauble River Marina.

#9 EAT TACOS AT CASERO TACO BUS
We were sold at tacos and margs — two of our favourite food groups. We’re big fans of the crispy shrimp and hot cheese nachos which come loaded with jalapeños. The taco bus and patio has a casual and funky vibe, which suits the retro beach town escape perfectly.
Motelier tip: Get the pitcher of margaritas.

#10 READ A BOOK, IN A HAMMOCK
The true sign of a successful escape is enjoying a little down time. Grab your book (or pick-up one in the shop), put some tunes on and enjoy a lazy afternoon in your hammock. We think #thiscallsfowine!
Hammock life at The June
If you tick all these boxes on your trip to Sauble Beach, then well done! If not, there's always a next time. Plus. make sure to leave time for spontaneity and adventures at The June, like swimming in the pool, dinner at Heydays, morning coffee in The Shop, lawn games and more.
