Designing this space was all about embracing Sauble’s golden hour hues, while playing on the moody and playful elements that really encapsulate 70s roadside motels by the beach. With its designer bed, soft blush glow and floor to ceiling tiled shower, this motel-luxe room is definitely the place you want to be. It’s the go to room for all couples, with the perfect balance of masculine and feminine, and all of the romantic vibes.
Here are the before and afters of this space, plus our source guide for all things furniture, fixtures + accessories in this space, as seen in Motel Makeover.

JUNIFY TIP
Our tip for designing any space is to pick one element or piece of furniture that you absolutely love, and build around that! For the king room, that was the bed. This space really started to take shape when we found the perfect motel luxe bed from CB2, and we designed the room in a way where the pendants, side tables and wallpaper all perfectly frame the bed!

THE ENTRYWAY
We really love that first moment of walking into a hotel room, so we decided to boldly embrace blush and terracotta by creating a two tone look in the entryway. The paint reflects our signature pink neon signs, and creates the most beautiful glow as soon as you walk in!

THE BEDROOM
This is where you’ll be sipping on bubbly in bed and having all of the slow mornings, so we designed it to be cozy, comfortable and intimate. The pendants cast a soft glow across the entire room, the designer bed frame brings casual luxury into the space, and the retro colour block print brings the retro beach vibes to life. Plus, a pop of green to bring the outside in.

THE BATHROOM
Since we went for the feminine blush tones in the main room, we went in the total opposite direction for the bathroom. We brought the beach vibes in with muted turquoise square tiles floor to ceiling in the shower which reflect in the vanity mirror for a full 360 effect. Plus, the authentically retro print brings it back to the 70s inspired personality of the entire motel.
