This is your ultimate guide to help you plan a magical and laid back escape. We have a real love for Sauble Beach, and can’t wait to show you why. We’ve done all the research for you, so you can eat, sip and play with ease.
WHERE TO EAT
Sauble Beach itself is tiny and totally walkable. While there aren’t a ton of restaurants in Sauble Beach, here are our favourites for good eats in Sauble and the surrounding towns.
All the beach town classics at Heydays
Calling all eggs benny fans! Heydays serves up brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-12pm.
The Wellness Refinery
The dreamiest healthy café up the road that we can’t get enough of.
Motelier tip: Go for one of their colourful smoothie bowls or the avocado toast - they’re our go-tos!
Family owned and operated, this bakery has the most amazing pastries if you’re looking for something to take back to The June or to the beach.
The Lighthouse Restaurant
All the classic breakfasts you know and love, and more. Plus, they have all day breakfast.
Lunch & Dinner
Serving reinvented coastal classics. We might be biased, but we think this is the best spot to be in Sauble Beach.
Motelier tip: Trying the hot lobster roll is a must!
Casero Taco Bus
Mexican inspired eats with a casual patio serving the best tacos around. Outdoor only.
Motelier tip: Get the shrimp and/or cauliflower tacos, and a pitcher of margaritas.
Tasty burgers and more, this spot is a great takeout option to take over to the beach with you to catch the sunset.
Dreamy, Instagram-worthy picnics you can book in advance, because charcuterie and wine make everything fine.
Motelier tip: This is an incredible experience to book if you’re celebrating something special. Book the sunset time!
Beach House Cafe
The perfect spot for sunset affogatos and soft serve ice cream.
A Sauble staple just minutes away from The June.
The Crowd Inn
Located right on the beach, this is the spot for funnel cakes at sunset.
WHERE TO SIP
Again, Sauble Beach is tiny and walking-friendly, which makes going out for a bevvy easy. Although our favourite places to sip on coffee, frosé, or a glass of wine are in the Lobby Bar, poolside, or by the campfire, these are our other notable favourites.
Frosé from Heydays is best enjoyed by the pool
Amicis Coffee Bar
Great coffee and delicious oat milk lattes, fuel up for the day by stopping in for a coffee and going for a morning beach walk.
The Wellness Refinery
A favourite spot of ours to refuel, and not just because they have pink lattes.
Dizzy Bird Coffee
While you’re out and about exploring neighbouring towns, stop here for a quick iced coffee or latte.
Wine, Beer & Cocktails
The Lobby Bar at The June
Pop by the Lobby Bar daily for a bevvy. Our patio is licensed, and the spot to be after dinner is around the campfire with a glass of wine and the people you love.
Heydays is serving up old school bevvys, wine, craft beer, and of course their famous frosé all season long. See ya there!
Motelier tip: Frosé is best enjoyed poolside, soaking up the Sauble Beach sun.
1858 Caesar Bar
Caesar bar with a stunning view of the beach.
Three Sheets Brewing
Brewery and pub serving elevated pub fare and craft beer.
Tobermory Brewing Company
A great spot for a beer after hiking around Bruce Peninsula.
WHERE TO PLAY
We’re all about the sunset state of mind in Sauble Beach, living on beach time, in flip flops, spending countless hours at the beach. But there’s also charming shops to check out, paddleboards to be rented, and adventures to be had around Bruce Peninsula.
SUP on Lake Huron
Grit and Grace
If you’re looking for a new summer sundress, this is our pick to shop from.
The best spot for vintage tees, repurposed Levi’s, and great second-hand finds.
Comfy classics, if you forgot a sweater for your getaway head here.
Jack N Jill’s Surf Shop
Surf and lifestyle shop which has a variety of retro Sauble merch.
Exploring the Bruce Peninsula is an absolute must! Picture limestone cliffs, turquoise waters and countless swimming holes. You’ll hardly believe you’re in Canada! It’s no wonder the Bruce Peninsula gets extremely busy in the summer, so make sure to plan ahead.
A few of the most popular adventures up the peninsula are:
50 minutes by car, half-day excursion, and you need to book your parking reservation in advance.
Lion’s Head Lookout
30 minutes by car, the trail can be done in less than an hour, but we recommend taking your time to enjoy the views. You need to book your parking reservation in advance.
Halfway Log Dump
About an hour by car, this spot is good for those who want to avoid the popular and crowded spots. You need to book your parking reservation in advance as well.
50 minutes by car, and you could spend the day exploring this quaint, small town surrounded by the same clear blue waters as the hiking trails.
Sauble Beach Main Beach
11km of sandy beach, Sauble Beach is only a five minute walk from The June. Wake up early and beat the crowds, or head down in the evening for a magical beach sunset.
Motelier tip: We like to head to the further end of the beach to avoid the crowds. Head down Lakeshore Blvd and park yourself anywhere between 6th and 9th St.
Southampton Main Beach
Quieter, sandy and 4 km long, this is the beach to head to if you want to avoid the crowds that Sauble Beach typically sees.
Gobles Grove Beach
Another quieter, sandy beach option. Pack a picnic, because there aren’t any food options nearby.
Spas & Wellness
The Skin Collective
Treat yourself to a facial with your bestie during your getaway. Located across the street from The June.
The Kula Kave
Hot yoga class, located right across from The June.
