Welcome to the beach!

This is your ultimate guide to help you plan a magical and laid back escape. We have a real love for Sauble Beach, and can’t wait to show you why. We’ve done all the research for you, so you can eat, sip and play with ease.

WHERE TO EAT

Sauble Beach itself is tiny and totally walkable. While there aren’t a ton of restaurants in Sauble Beach, here are our favourites for good eats in Sauble and the surrounding towns.

All the beach town classics at Heydays

WHERE TO SIP

Again, Sauble Beach is tiny and walking-friendly, which makes going out for a bevvy easy. Although our favourite places to sip on coffee, frosé, or a glass of wine are in the Lobby Bar, poolside, or by the campfire, these are our other notable favourites.

Frosé from Heydays is best enjoyed by the pool

Caffeine

Amicis Coffee Bar
Sauble Beach
Great coffee and delicious oat milk lattes, fuel up for the day by stopping in for a coffee and going for a morning beach walk.

The Wellness Refinery
Sauble Beach
A favourite spot of ours to refuel, and not just because they have pink lattes.

Dizzy Bird Coffee
Southampton
While you’re out and about exploring neighbouring towns, stop here for a quick iced coffee or latte.

Wine, Beer & Cocktails

The Lobby Bar at The June
Sauble Beach
Pop by the Lobby Bar daily for a bevvy. Our new patio has 3 campfires and an outdoor bar. This is the perfect spot to wind down with s'mores, fireside cocktails, wine and small snacks.

Heydays
Sauble Beach
Heydays is serving up old school bevvys, wine, craft beer, and of course their famous frosé all season long. See ya there!
Motelier tip: Frosé is best enjoyed poolside, soaking up the Sauble Beach sun.

Day Trips

Exploring the Bruce Peninsula is an absolute must! Picture limestone cliffs, turquoise waters and countless swimming holes. You’ll hardly believe you’re in Canada! It’s no wonder the Bruce Peninsula gets extremely busy in the summer, so make sure to plan ahead.

A few of the most popular adventures up the peninsula are:

The Grotto
Tobermory
50 minutes by car, half-day excursion, and you need to book your parking reservation in advance.

Lion’s Head Lookout
Lion’s Head
30 minutes by car, the trail can be done in less than an hour, but we recommend taking your time to enjoy the views. You need to book your parking reservation in advance.

Halfway Log Dump
Tobermory
About an hour by car, this spot is good for those who want to avoid the popular and crowded spots. You need to book your parking reservation in advance as well.

Tobermory
Tobermory
50 minutes by car, and you could spend the day exploring this quaint, small town surrounded by the same clear blue waters as the hiking trails.

Flowerpot Island
Tobermory
50 minutes by car and 6.5km by boat to the island - you’ll want to dedicate most of a day to this one. You need to book your boat ride in advance here.

Beaches

Sauble Beach Main Beach
Sauble Beach
11km of sandy beach, Sauble Beach is only a five minute walk from The June. Wake up early and beat the crowds, or head down in the evening for a magical beach sunset.
Motelier tip: We like to head to the further end of the beach to avoid the crowds. Head down Lakeshore Blvd and park yourself anywhere between 6th and 9th St.

Southampton Main Beach
Southampton
Quieter, sandy and 4 km long, this is the beach to head to if you want to avoid the crowds that Sauble Beach typically sees.

Gobles Grove Beach
Port Elgin
Another quieter, sandy beach option. Pack a picnic, because there aren’t any food options nearby.
